The Institute of Christian Politics (“ICP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of its donors, applicants, participants, fellows, students, subscribers, and website visitors. This Privacy Statement explains how ICP collects, uses, protects, and shares personal information.
Information We Collect
ICP may collect information that you voluntarily provide when you:

apply for a scholarship, fellowship, seminar, or other educational program

Depending on the nature of your interaction, this information may include your name, contact information, donation information, academic background, enrollment information, transcripts, essays, recommendations, church-membership information, travel or lodging information, emergency-contact information, and other materials reasonably necessary to administer ICP’s programs.
Payment information submitted through an online donation platform is generally processed by the applicable payment provider. ICP may receive transaction details but does not necessarily receive or retain complete payment-card information.
How We Use Information
ICP may use personal information to:

Donor Privacy
ICP does not sell, rent, trade, or exchange donor information.
ICP does not publicly identify a donor or disclose the amount of a donor’s contribution without the donor’s consent, except when disclosure is required by law. Donors may request that a gift be publicly acknowledged anonymously.
Even when a donor requests anonymity from the public, ICP may use or disclose the donor’s identity internally as reasonably necessary for accounting, banking, tax reporting, gift acceptance, legal compliance, board oversight, or other legitimate organizational purposes.
Applicants, Students, Fellows, and Participants
Application materials, transcripts, recommendations, essays, academic records, and related review materials are treated as confidential and are made available only to persons who reasonably need access for program administration, selection, oversight, or legal compliance.
ICP does not sell, rent, trade, or exchange information concerning scholarship applicants, fellows, seminar participants, or other students.
ICP will not publish a participant’s scholarly work without permission, except that such work may be used internally for review, program administration, recordkeeping, or legal compliance.
Photographs, Video, and Recordings
ICP does not publish photographs, videos, or recordings identifying students, fellows, scholarship recipients, or seminar participants without their express consent.
ICP may photograph or record lecturers, speakers, faculty members, public presentations, or other persons who have agreed to participate publicly in ICP programming.
Sharing Information with Service Providers
ICP may provide limited personal information to service providers that assist with functions such as:

database or constituent-management services

event or program administration.
Information is provided only to the extent reasonably necessary for the service being performed. ICP expects its service providers not to sell, rent, trade, or independently use personal information obtained through their work for ICP.
ICP may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, protect legal rights, prevent fraud or misconduct, or protect the safety of ICP and others.
Information Security
ICP maintains reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect personal information. These measures may include secure email and cloud-storage services, strong passwords, multifactor authentication, access limitations, secure handling of paper records, and appropriate destruction of records when their retention period has expired.
No electronic storage or communication system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. ICP therefore cannot warrant the absolute security of information transmitted through the internet or stored electronically.
Record Retention
ICP retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to administer its programs, maintain appropriate organizational records, fulfill the purposes described in this statement, and comply with its document-retention obligations and applicable law.
Information that is no longer required will be securely deleted, destroyed, or anonymized when reasonably practicable, subject to any legal hold or continuing recordkeeping requirement.
Email Communications
Persons receiving general ICP email communications may unsubscribe by using the unsubscribe option included in the message or by contacting ICP. ICP may continue to send communications reasonably necessary to administer a donation, application, event registration, or ongoing program participation.
